Kawanabe Kyōsai
河鍋暁斎 (Kawanabe Kyōsai, 1831–1889) — the artist who painted demons for fun and courtiers for money. Kyōsai's supernatural and satirical work sits at the wild edge of ukiyo-e, made by someone who didn't particularly care what the establishment thought.
