Ōoka Shunboku
大岡春卜 (Ōoka Shunboku, 1680–1763) — an early Edo-period master of illustrated encyclopaedias and woodblock books. Shunboku's detailed studies of figures, creatures, and mythological scenes were reference material for generations of artists who came after him.
