Katsushika Hokusai

葛飾北斎 (Katsushika Hokusai, 1760–1849) — a man who changed his name thirty times and never stopped working. He produced an estimated 30,000 works across nine decades, painted The Great Wave at 70 and called it a mere sketch, and submitted a posthumous note expressing frustration at dying before he'd truly mastered his craft. The Great Wave is now the most reproduced Japanese artwork in history.
