Nagasawa Roshū
長澤蘆洲 (Nagasawa Roshū, 1767–1847) — an Edo-era classicist who never followed fashion. Where most ukiyo-e artists chased popular subjects, Roshū painted mythological and warrior scenes with a formal restraint that sets his work apart from the crowd.
